Exam Formats

The DSH is conducted by German universities and tests academic German.
- Listening Comprehension: Academic lectures and conversations.

Scoring Levels:
- DSH-1 (57%–66%): Limited acceptance.
- DSH-2 (67%–81%): Accepted by most universities.

TestDaF (Standardized Exam – Same Worldwide)
The TestDaF is internationally available and has a fixed format.
- Reading: 3–4 texts with comprehension questions
- Listening: Dialogues, interviews, lectures with multiple-choice & short answers.
- Writing: Structured essay based on data/graph.
- Speaking: Recorded responses to academic & social scenarios.
Components:
- TDN 3: Equivalent to B2 level, limited acceptance.
- TDN 4: Equivalent to C1, accepted by most German universities.
- TDN 5: Highest level, ensures admission in all institutions.
